This entire scope was made and designed because of the pewter bunny skiing downhill
while covering his eyes.
I really loved making this piece. It was this piece that made me realize the possibilities of
creating my own 'backdrops'. It was just plain fun as I created the scene. I used Bullseye
thin white iridized glass for the snow hill. Then I added CBS Clear Dichroic in Cyan/Pink Ripple as the ice on
top of the snow.
I added the Metzke Christmas tree which was actually half of a napkin holder designed by
the Metzke company last century. I used assorted vintage earrings as the
decoration on the tree.
I used a large pewter turtle to 'shoulder' the scope. Then I added a variety of small animals to watch the skiing bunny.
One of the last pieces was a pewter Jane Lunger piece. The seller enclosed a note saying that he hoped I would enjoy his Mothers piece as it HAD been one of her favorites. I knew instantly that this little woodchuck had to be a part of
Secret Christmas...
