Nothing is more powerful then a mother's love...

One of my fondest teenage memories is of riding horses down in Lesterville, Missouri. I love horses...I have done many, many horses in stained glass thru the years.
And, on my 'bucket list' is the desire to get on a horse at least one more time...
I knew from the beginning that I had to do a jewelryeidoscope showing my love of horses. So, I was absolutely thrilled when I won the auction for the 1977 Pewter Hallmark Horse and Foal. And, I loved that it was engraved with the words "Love is Gentle..."
I designed this jewelryeidoscope so that you use the
'Mother horse' as the 'handle' of the scope. Simply pick the Mother up and then, spin the Clarity glass wheel that is filled with vintage, fifty year old faceted glass jewels...
I love using the faceted glass jewels in my work. (Obviously...given my name of 'missourijewel') :) If I could,
I would use a glass jewel as my signature...
When the morning or afternoon sun streams in the window, thru the faceted glass jewels, every single facet of the jewel literally becomes a 'point of light' that will create a colored light show that will blow you away. I love color...
Color makes your soul feel better...

Update: One seller in particular, especially impressed me recently. I had bid on an old, vintage pewter horse business card holder. I was thrilled when I won and promptly paid. The next day cinderbuns refunded my money AND shipped the item, with an explanation that the piece had accidentally been broken . I thought cinderbuns' action demonstrated complete and total honor. Even though I had technically finished "#26 Love is Gentle", I went running to my work table and added one half of the pewter horse business holder.
It was the perfect, final touch...

The image disks for the jewelryeidoscopes have been created with magnificent, vintage faceted glass jewels from the 20th century in a wide range of cuts and colors.
These are jewels that were originally used in jewelry
pieces like 'Jelly Belly' brooches decades ago.
Amazing bold colors in hyacinth, ruby, sapphire, aquamarine, topaz, jonquil, capri, rose, pale rose, emerald, peridot, olivine, fuchsia, amethyst and so many more!
Then, for the final touch, on each image wheel, I add a Swarovski piece or two and a stray pearl
or other unique piece from last century...
