I may have wanted to be an embryologist at the age of eight, but by the age of 13, I wanted nothing more in the world
then to be just like my hero, Jane Goodall,
Animal Behaviorist extraordinaire... I wanted to be just like her. Living in the wild, studying animals and making wonderful discoveries. Heady dreams to be sure...
My bedroom wall was covered with African animals and maps...
I studied everything I could find on Africa and it's beauty.
From the proud Masai people to the Serengeti plains to
Mount Kilimanjaro,
it was nature in sync with its self.
I even had a pen pal from the Republic of Congo...I don't remember her name. Only that she wanted to be a nurse and that every envelope arrived opened.
Because of this love for Africa, I will be making many,
many more pieces of art to honor her. And every piece will always have a ruby or diamond added to represent
the blood that continues to stain the land...
