At this point in our history... and hopeful wisdom, it can safely be said now that the Native American Indians
and their culture were assaulted and forever changed...They were a Nation of people with a
proud tradition AND a respect for the land and its' creatures that was a lesson for all of us.
Given my respect for the Native American Indians...the first Americans,
I knew I wanted to do a piece that would show that respect and admiration.
My art sculpture was created because of one question:
"What if the Indians had Won?"
I spent an entire year thinking upon, and contemplating possible consequences...
I began collecting pieces that I wanted to represent a possible 'different outcome'.
Using my always favorite, Uroboros Tiffany art glasses in herringbone ripple and
granite textured glasses, and naturally some fabulous CBS Dichroic glasses, I began to
create a landscape full of life and possibilities...
I truly DO believe that there are deeper meanings sometimes in our lives,
so I fused a 'Dreamcatcher' in Bullseye iridized golds, purples and Dichroic glasses.
Then, I cut the dreamcatcher down into odd sized sections. I used them as the
'ledges' of the terrain. I love double entendres'. :)
And, at the top...a lovely, detailed pewter Teepee and a vintage rhinestone American Flag.
Perfect...
