#54 Skeleton Biker & Babe lampshade...
When my brother announced that he was getting married, I knew instantly what I wanted to make for him and Chris as a wedding present... I had recently finished a Harley Davidson logo with flames and had some of the orange Tiffany art glass left over. The Youghiogheny orange stipple looks exactly like fire when it's lit from behind. It was a lot of fun using it in a stained glass lampshade...
At about the same time, I happened upon the Partha Pewter Motorcycle Skeleton biker and babe. Jimmy and Chris each have their own Harley and love to ride the open road, so to me, this was the perfect topper to the lampshade.
I used the Youghiogheny stipple and Spectrum clear baroque and black glasses to make the lampshade first. Next I added decorative soldering over the vase cap and over multiple sections of the lampshade. For the final touch, I used assorted 'biker' link chains, American and Mexican silver jewelry, vintage Swarovski rivoli and table tin cut jewels. I also cast a 'ball & chain' in solder and added that to the biker. Finally, I used a favorite 'Tree of Life' bronze lamp base.
